Introduction to cartooning

A fun and active session with no requirement for students to be "good at drawing". At the end of this session students will understand the difference between copying and drawing their own cartoons to tell a story. Students examine different types of cartoons and their uses, what a cartoon is and how it is used to tell a story or message. Faces, expressions on faces, how to draw someone looking older, looking younger, men, women, boys and girls, hair, ears etc. Active participation with all students drawing throughout the lesson ( and probably for days afterwards). The lesson is rounded off with a demonstartion by Dave showing his cartooning skills, followed by a healthy dose of questions and answers from students.

Time: 1hr 30mins Suited to Grades P-2 & 3-8
